  Dr. Key is great. Her nurse (Sandy) on the other hand is beyond horrible. Although a nurse at a pediatric clinic, she never once smiled at my daughter or showed any kind of hospitality, courtesy or compassion, even when giving shots. She also always had a condescending tone when speaking to me, which I did not appreciate. My first negative experience came from day 1, when my daughter was made to wait over 30 minutes to be seen in a freezing exam room. It was Feb in OKC and I was freezing wearing my coat, while my infant was undressed down to the diaper. You would think they would have offered her a blanket or turned the heat up to make it an acceptable climate. The wait time in that office was always long and terrible and they would demand that you show up 15 minutes early to your appointment, even if you are not a new patient. Every visit would take way longer than expected due to the wait, which was becoming very inconvenient given that I had gone back to working full-time. The last straw for me was when I showed up for my daughter's 15 month visit. Her appointment was at 2 pm and I showed up at 1:55. I recall a teenager came about 5 minutes after I checked in without an apt (probably same day sick visit) and they were let in. At 2:30 pm, I was still in the waiting room and had not been called back. I asked the front staff to check what was going on as I had to be back at work. Sandy came out (very unapologetic) and told me that the office was busy with sick kiddos and "since you were late, I let other people in before you". I explained that I was not late, and that in fact I showed up 5 minutes before my apt time. She reiterated their ridiculous policy about showing up 15 minutes before my appt time. Even if my appt had been at 1:45 instead of two, I could not believe I was being chastised for showing up barely 10 minutes late. I was floored by her tone and callous attitude. I explained that I would have to cancel my appt if I was not seen promptly and she basically said "that is your decision ma'am". At that point, I had had enough of her and the poor service I received at Northwest Peds. I switched another pediatrician at the Pediatric Group and my experience there is a million times better. Friendly staff, very short wait time, prompt service, great physician, and most importantly a compassionate nurse.
