  We are on our 3rd pregnancy with Dr. Shanbour! I couldn't have done it without him! With this one the first ultrasound looked as if I may have had Placenta Previa he calmly told me about it and that he just wanted to "check again" he didn't make me feel concerned at all. I trust Dr. Shanbour and often refer him to my friends and family! LOVE that guy!

  My initial impression of Dr. Shanbour and his office staff were that they were exceptionally nice folks who meant well. They have all been good at getting me in the office or set up with the proper appointments (e.g., ultrasounds, labs) in a timely fashion. Only two things don't particularly sit well now that I have been with this office going on three years. First, I've made some personal decisions about contraception, family planning, etc. that felt very judged by some of the staff and a bit by Dr. Shanbour himself. Second, I needed to have an emergency D&C and my fiance' and I both went early in the morning for the procedure. Although all other doctors came to the waiting room to inform family and friends about the status of their loved one(s), my fiance' never saw Dr. Shanbour. He was beyond worry and when we shared this with the Mercy staff, they immediately reached out to the doctor and found he had went on to another hospital to complete another surgery. He wasn't very apologetic and was a tad nonchalant in expressing that my D&C was OK and that I should be fine. After this experience, we feel Dr. Shanbour just wasn't the best fit for our family, but certainly wish him (and his office) the best in the near future.
